The “Garden Cats” Messenger Bag has two cotton fabrics with fusible fleece at its core. The exterior fabric boasts numerous cat breeds in kaleidoscopic delight. Fully lined in a bright yellow cotton fabric. The strap is 37" long. There is a large zipped pocket on the interior, while inside the 16” x 12” x 5” body (approximately) your belongings are held securely in place under a Velcro closed flap. It’s true, you can find aprons in any department/big box store, but they won’t be a handmade-with-love-and-care adjustable aprons. Sure, you can find less expensive aprons, but will the fabric quality be the same? I use some scrapes, yes, but only from quality 100% cotton fabric- sometimes designer fabrics are used. You may even be able to make aprons yourself, but will you? In most cases the answer is no, so why not get your adjustable aprons from Scrapper’s? I promise to make adjustable aprons you will be proud to own or give as a gift.
Your new adjustable apron will be made from pre-washed cloth to limit fabric shrinkage. It will be washer and dryer safe, even those with glued-on embellishments. Because the adjustable aprons are made of cotton, there may be some wrinkles. That’s the nature of breathable cotton. The homesteaders who settled here in the early 1800s were a resourceful people who were skilled in creating what they needed from the resources at hand. They would take objects/materials at hand and repurpose them to extend its usefulness: flour sacks used to make household or apparel items, food scraps were fed to farm animals, and fat rendered from the animals mixed with wood ash were used to make soap products. That tradition of resourcefulness is still practiced in the Ozarks today, and Scrapper’s is proud to be a part of that heritage.
To repurpose something is to use the same thing/object for another purpose, and one way I use out-grown denim jeans is to create handcrafted gift items. I will always identify, clearly, products made from repurposed fabric. Of course, most of my table items are sewn using remnants, or the un-stashed fabric gifted to me from friends, or pieces left over from personal sewing. Recent additions to my shop are items for a casual dining table. Plate pads, place mats, or table runners, mug rugs/coasters, and cutlery pockets are among my favorite ways to repurpose denim fabric. A Box Bag is a type of pouch often associated with a man's Dopp Bag and used for toiletries. This floral Box Bag definitely speaks to the feminine side with its lovely brown background and coral flowers. It is fully lined in a coordinating russet lining. The approximate dimensions are 8"W x 6"H x 3"D. It is closed with an invisible zipper and has a tab on one end to aid in unzipping the Box Bag. On the opposite end is a convenient handle. Pouches are one of the most versatile bags on the market. Pouches provide storage for such a variety of items! They are a most useful bag for organizing your belongings. Since I only make one-of-a-kind products for my shop, something listed today may be sold when you look again. Therefore, keep checking back often. As with all of Scrapper's products, there are no exact duplicates. Mine is not a factory or a cottage industry that makes a single type of commodity. Some items may be made from the same basic pattern. Additionally, some may contain the same fabric. An example might be that there are six Bowl Co-zees of the same color, but differing fabric. You can be assured that all the products are lovingly handmade by me in Branson, Missouri. The studio is in my smoke-free, dog-friendly home, but don’t be concerned. Bentley, our English Springer Spaniel, stays out of the studio. Small imperfections can happen because each item is made by hand. If you look closely, you might see an unclipped thread. Flaws, occasionally, appear in the fabric. Yet, these small imperfections should not diminish the usability or aesthetic value of the item. I use quality scraps, remnants, and/or repurposed fabric in my creations; hence the name, Scrapper’s. Be assured, I clearly mark items with repurposed cloth. Machine wash and dry most items. However, specialty fabrics may require dry cleaning. I identify those products as "dry clean only" in the item listing.
